Why does someone type "martial arts near me" and hit search? Maybe you're one of 20% of Californians who've been a victim of violent crime. Maybe you live in a neighborhood where you are afraid to walk around at night. Maybe you just want to get in shape, or find a class to teach your child some confidence and discipline.
Whatever your reason for being here, our focus is on creating a safe space to practice dangerous things, and in the process, help you regain your agency.
Our martial arts is not aimed at competition or MMA training (those are perfectly valid pursuits, and can turn out great athletes). Our martial art, Kung Fu San Soo, focuses on conflicts in real life. Here, you will learn more than just the techniques and tactics of fighting. You will learn how to keep calm and keep your head. How to de-escalate and get out of a situation without violence. And then, if violence is required, how to quickly and efficiently disable the attacker and get home SAFE.

What are the "Five Families"?
- Tsoi-Ga: Any strike. Punches, kicks, head-butts, even biting! It’s all Tsoi-Ga. Think Boxing, Kickboxing, or Taekwondo.
- Li-Ga: Leverages. Arm bars, wrist locks; heck, any joint lock. Think Aikido and Jujitsu.
- Ho-Ga: Movement and balance. Think of the throws and sweeps you see in Judo and Wrestling.
- Fut-Ga: The psychology of the fight. Tactics and strategy, yes. But also training to stay calm in highly stressful situations, manipulation, “sneakiness” and unpredictability. Pressure points and how to use them.
- Hung-Ga: Stances and power. Using aggression to overwhelm an attacker. Think the devastating attacks of Krav Maga and Muay Thai.
